An informal “Public Sector Energy Training Group”, has been initialized by LAS (Local Area Services), which serves the Association of Ontario Municipalities. The purpose of the Group is highlighted below. This group may be an avenue towards providing energy related professional development opportunities for OCFMA members. If there is interest in OCFMA being involved, a representative to speak for and advise on behalf of the OCFMA will need to be determined. The next meeting is scheduled for early in 2021. This info and request for interest has also been relayed to the University sector (via their ERRAPPA representative) as they may wish to be included directly or under a general Colleges/Universities representation. Please include in discussion board any thoughts or comments regarding this, and perhaps this can be discussed at the next Energy Sub-Committee meeting in Dec.
Purpose of group
o To develop training resources for each public sector to be delivered through each sector association/representative, including sharing of collateral, training courses, trainers to adapt to each sector.
o Make courses affordable for all.
o Collaborative, non-competitive, open marketplace for training
o Each sector responsible for their own education, adoption, promotion, schedule, finances, etc. -
My initial reaction is that there are already a lot of training resources available in the marketplace. I am wondering if investing in this is the best use of our group’s resources.
We can discuss during the next sub-committee meeting.

Hi All, I have attached draft documents, for examples of training currently being considered by this group. Please reply in this discussion if you have any questions regarding this that may help determine level of interest.
