This is a tiny tip that was recently shared with me by Rich at Fanshawe. Its so easy and so useful, I wanted to share it for those that may be unaware of this little trick. Whenever you would like to insert a link to a website in a document or email, just type Control K and it opens the link box to add the url. I have used it 3 times today and I just learned the tip this morning! Thank you Rich for passing along this little tip : ) See below for more information.
When you press Ctrl + K, it opens the Insert Hyperlink dialog box. This allows you to:
- Link to a website (e.g., https://www.microsoft.com)
- Link to an email address
- Link to a file or document
- Link to a specific place in the current document (like a heading or bookmark)
📝 How to Use It
- Highlight the text you want to turn into a hyperlink.
- Press Ctrl + K.
- In the dialog box:
- Type or paste the URL in the Address field.
- Click OK.
The selected text will now be clickable and will open the link you specified.
