Reply To: Intergrated Systems Testing – CAN ULC S1001 – OFC Changes Jan 1 2026

Hey Robin,

At Humber, we are utilizing our code consultant to help design/guide us through the requirements of S1001 on a new construction at our Lakeshore Campus. Once the systems are installed, we’ve hired Stantec to perform both third-party commissioning and S1001 commissioning. From our experience here in the GTA, it looks like the code consultants and commissioning agents are starting to get their certificates to perform S1001 testing and commissioning.

With respect to the results, I don’t have much to share with the group as we are still in the process of it. We are lucky that we have a good relationship with Toronto Fire Services that they have not asked too much questions about the integration of the fire alarm system with other building systems. If any new information comes, I’ll make sure to share with the group.
